About The Map of Now

Map of Now is a unique and exciting collaboration between renowned painter Johanna Reynolds and certified coach Sara Smeaton, blending the worlds of art, creative expression, and personal growth.

In this 90-minute co-facilitated workshop, surrounded by art, participants will embark on a sensory exploration of their inner and outer worlds through mindfulness prompts and guided visualizations. The intimate group setting fosters connection and community while honouring each participant’s personal experience. You’ll leave with your physical “Now Map”—a unique piece of art that captures something true for you in this moment.

We’ll begin with gentle breathing to ground ourselves, followed by prompts to awaken the senses. Then, you’ll dive into hands-on time with materials like chalk pastels, oil pastels, pencils, and watercolour crayons—all provided for your use—to create a visual representation of now.

After the workshop, your "Now Map" can be framed, gifted, or even burned in a ritual for release. It may become the first of many as you integrate this practice into your life.

Being with what’s present now is a vital part of moving forward. We often try to skip over it, but recognizing what’s here opens the path to what’s next. Expressing the now through thoughtfully curated art materials is a creative act that is nourishing, playful, and cathartic.

This workshop offers a chance for gentle shifts for anyone ready to create space for themselves and open to new perspectives, creative outlets, and paths forward.

No artistic ability is needed—just come as you are, with curiosity and compassion.

Spots are limited to 8 participants.

Praise for Map of Now

"I was surprised by how insightful the whole experience was. What Sara's guidance brought to the forefront of my mind after immersing myself in Johanna's beautiful painting was revelatory. I am deeply moved by (abstract and expressionist) art, and to pair that with guided contemplation is brilliant."

– LM (workshop participant)

"After the workshop, I am letting more light into the dark, buried emotions. Sara and Johanna were the perfect combination. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to participate."

– ERT (workshop participant)

"The outcome of this workshop for me justifies the path I now know I must move forward on. It's as though I have been liberated. I am so hard on myself, so critical about what and how I do things, but now I feel softer towards myself, and others. Especially after being in a group setting where I heard and felt what others were experiencing. It was very moving. I left the workshop with more gratitude for the second half of my life. It was my birthday and I felt "born anew" by the whole experience into a more powerful, loving, and accepting person."
